Dr. Kristin Krizmanich primarily devotes her time to breast imaging at RMI. As a lifelong Michigan resident, she completed her medical training at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. Dr. Krizmanich pursued her interest in breast imaging during her radiology residency at the University of Michigan, and was active in research in that area. She then went on to specialize in Breast Imaging at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit from 2011-2012.
Her interest in breast imaging was clear to her as far back as high school, and she even wrote her college entrance essay for The University of Michigan on that subject. “My entire childhood I was told how much I reminded everyone of my late grandmother, and I wished so badly I could have remembered meeting her when I was just a baby…instead she lives on in me every day as I fight against the disease that took her life. I knew very early on that I would try to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer…and I hope I am making her proud.”
Dr. Krizmanich was drawn to RMI by their cutting edge approach to breast cancer screening including their use of the UltimateMamm® and screening breast ultrasound. She is involved in the development of the Screening Breast MRI program, as well as multiple monthly tumor boards (multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patients newly diagnosed with cancer) which serve many patients throughout the community.
In her spare time, Dr. Krizmanich enjoys staying active with running (“both as a sport and after my 3 small children!”), spending time with her family and friends, and traveling.
