    October Breast Cancer Support

RMI is passionate about women’s imaging and as a good steward for the health of our community, we are happy to announce the following:

Breast Cancer Navigation Fund at Hurley Foundation

Hurley Medical Center’s Breast Cancer Navigation Fund supports women through the complex treatment options and emotional effects of breast cancer, from diagnosis to treatment to recovery. The program is led by Marsha Schmit, RN, BSN, CBCN, whose tireless work is supported by many in the community, including Regional Medical Imaging.

    Free Mammograms

RMI offers free mammograms throughout the year for uninsured women in our communities. We’ve added some dates in October to better serve you. Learn more about the Free Mammogram program.

    RMI In the Community

As part of our mission to acknowledge and support women’s health in October and throughout the year, RMI is involved with various events.

Making Strides: We are walking in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events in downtown Flint and Detroit to show our support for the American Cancer Society. In addition, we conduct internal fundraisers such as potlucks, basket auctions, employee participation events (such as wearing jeans to work for a donation to Making Strides), and more.

Pink Night Palooza: We are a Platinum sponsor in this Flint event for Hurley Foundation’s Breast Health Navigator Program, which funds a nurse navigator and her support. The program helps women move through the financial and emotional complexities of breast cancer treatment, recovery, and healing.

Physician Associations: RMI sponsors various physician community groups, enabling us to attend and talk about how we help women in our communities. It also allows us to exchange best practices and other critical information on breast health and breast cancer detection with non-radiologists. This enables them to help their female patients maintain good breast health through regular screenings.
